Following June’s ‘Double Zero’, the heavy-hitting lead track from Rendez Vous’ highly-anticipated debut album, the Parisian post-punks have unleashed another visceral yet nostalgic offering. ‘Sentimental Animal’ is dominated by barbed, chorus-heavy guitar riffs reminiscent of Siouxsie and the Banshees, which scratch against a brooding bass line and driving beats. Channelling a similar vibe to another Paris-based Goth enthusiast Jessica93, Rendez Vous’ impassioned vocals and indie tendencies make for the thrilling listen.
